Powered by BTCPay Server — open source, self-custody
Accept Bitcoin and stablecoinsstraight to your own wallet
Keyward runs the payment infrastructure. You keep the keys. Payments go from your customer to your wallet without passing through us — so there is nothing for us to freeze, lose, or report.
- Non-custodial by design
- 0% transaction fee
- No KYC
- No card, no KYC
Percentage fees punish you for growing
Every other gateway takes a cut of every sale. We charge the same flat price whether you process one thousand dollars or one million.
At this volume you keep $1,392 more every year — versus a processor charging just 0.5%.
Network (miner) fees are paid by whoever sends the transaction and are not charged by us. Comparison rates reflect commonly advertised processor pricing and exclude their withdrawal and conversion fees.
Live in three steps
No contracts, no onboarding calls, no compliance queue. The slowest part is deciding which wallet to use.
- 01
Create your store
Sign up with an email address. No identity documents, no business verification, no waiting for approval. Your store exists in under a minute.
- 02
Connect your own wallet
Paste an extended public key for Bitcoin, or a receiving address for stablecoins. That is all we ever receive. We cannot spend from a public key — the ability simply does not exist.
- 03
Install the plugin and sell
One plugin for WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, PrestaShop or WHMCS — or two API calls if you built the site yourself. Your first payment lands directly in your wallet.
Why merchants leave custodial processors
Every custodial gateway is a company that can freeze your balance, change its terms, demand documents, or fail. Keyward removes that entire category of risk by never holding the funds.
Non-custodial by architecture, not by promise
Plenty of processors say they are safe. We are the only kind that is structurally unable to take your money: we hold public keys, and a public key cannot sign a transaction.
Zero commission, permanently
Not an introductory rate. There is no percentage anywhere in our pricing, because we never sit between you and the payment to take one.
Bitcoin, Lightning and stablecoins
On-chain Bitcoin and Lightning for speed, USDT and USDC across TRON, Ethereum and Polygon for stability. Your customers pick; you get paid.
Drop-in for the platform you already use
WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, PrestaShop, WHMCS and Drupal Commerce have ready-made plugins. Custom stacks get a REST API and signed webhooks.
Built on open source you can verify
The payment engine is BTCPay Server — audited, widely deployed, and not written by us. We publish the exact version and image digest we run so you can check we have not modified it.
We do the operations
Node syncing, security updates, blockchain reorgs, backups, uptime monitoring, and the 3am restart. That labour is what you are actually paying for.
The coins people actually pay with
A short honest list beats a banner claiming three hundred tokens. These are live today, each with its own node or dedicated RPC behind it.

Works with the store you already built
The payment engine is BTCPay Server, so every BTCPay plugin written over the last eight years works here unchanged. You are not betting on our plugin ecosystem — you are inheriting a mature one.

Questions worth asking
Especially the uncomfortable ones. If an answer here is vague, that is a bug — tell us and we will fix it.
Do you ever hold my money?
No, and not as a policy we could change — as an architectural fact. You give us an extended public key or a receiving address. Those can generate addresses and watch for payments, but they cannot sign a transaction. Funds move from your customer to your wallet without ever entering an account we control.
Will you ask me for identity documents?
No. KYC exists because custodial processors handle other people's money and inherit the regulatory obligations that come with it. We never take custody, so that obligation does not arise. We ask for an email address and nothing else.
Is there a free plan?
No, and that is deliberate. A free tier on a payment gateway attracts throwaway stores that consume node capacity and support time while never becoming customers, and the cost of carrying them lands on the people who do pay. Instead every plan opens with a 14-day trial with full Growth features, and paid plans start at $2 a month — low enough that the decision is not really about money.
What happens when my trial ends?
We email you before it expires. If you do not pay, your stores stop accepting new payments but nothing is deleted, and any payment already made to your wallet is untouched because it was never ours to hold. Pick a plan whenever you are ready and everything resumes where it left off.
Why is the cheapest plan sold for six or twelve months at a time?
Because a USDT transfer costs the sender roughly a dollar or two in network fees. Invoicing you $2 would mean the fee is most of what you pay, which is a bad deal disguised as a cheap one. Selling the Starter plan in longer blocks keeps the fee a rounding error instead of a surcharge.
Are there any transaction fees or percentage cuts?
None. You pay a flat monthly or yearly price and keep 100% of every payment. The only cost per transaction is the blockchain network fee, which goes to miners or validators — never to us. On TRON that is typically a fraction of a cent.
What wallet do I need?
Any wallet you already control. For Bitcoin, export a watch-only extended public key from Sparrow, Electrum, BlueWallet, or a hardware wallet such as a Ledger or Trezor. For stablecoins, any TRON or Ethereum address works, including an exchange deposit address. Never send anyone your seed phrase, including us.
What happens to my money if Keyward disappears tomorrow?
Nothing happens to your money, because we never had it. Past payments are already in your wallet and remain fully spendable with your own keys. You would lose the dashboard and need another way to generate invoices — an inconvenience, not a loss. This is the single most important difference between self-custody and a custodial processor.
Can I accept Lightning payments?
Yes, by connecting your own Lightning node or NWC connection. We deliberately do not offer a shared Lightning node: a shared node means we hold the keys to your channel funds, which would make us custodial for exactly the balance you are trying to keep control of.
Can I leave and take my setup with me?
Yes. The engine is BTCPay Server, which is open source and free to self-host. Your wallet is already yours, and your store configuration can be recreated on your own server. We keep customers by being cheaper than the effort of leaving, not by trapping them.
How do I refund a customer?
You send the refund directly from your own wallet, and record it in the dashboard against the original invoice. Because we never hold the funds, we cannot push a refund on your behalf — which also means no processor can ever reverse a settled payment against your will.
How do I know you are not running a modified version?
We publish the exact BTCPay Server version and container image digest we run on our trust page, so you can compare it against the official release. You can also independently verify every payment on the blockchain, because payments settle to addresses derived from your own key rather than to ours.
